- Assess an unresponsive person
- Perform effective CPR on adults
- Use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) safely
- Manage adult and child choking
- Recognise abnormal breathing and when to call 111
Basic Workplace First Aid (WorkSafe‑aligned)
- Provide first aid for common workplace injuries
- Understand workplace first aid responsibilities under WorkSafe NZ guidance
- Identify when professional medical care is required
- Support injured workers until emergency services arrive
